Imagine jumping out of bed in the morning feeling totally awake, vibrantly alive and healthier than ever before…
What is Raw and Living Food?
When most people hear the term “Raw Food,” they think carrots and apples or unprocessed foods. This is true but to Bill and I and millions of other people it's more than that!
We take fresh organic FRUITS, VEGETABLES, NUTS, SEEDS, AND SPROUTED GRAINS to make healthy and delicious meals which have not been heated over 115°F. . Sound boring? No way!!! Imagine eating enchiladas, pizza, pasta, cookies, cakes and pies everyday no more guilt and your body will thank you when you feed it the nutrients it craves instead of foods that have been over-processed and stripped of anything beneficial.
What Are Some of the Benefits?
You can spot a person who eats a raw food diet. They are healthy, trim, and have an incredible energy with no excess weight. Many people have healed themselves of disease and ailments such as diabetes, fibromyalgia, acne, migraines, back pain, neck and joint pain, asthma, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, hypoglycemia, colitis, candida, arthritis, serious allergies, depression, anxiety, mood swings, heartburn, gas, bloating, skin diseases obesity, chronic fatigue, cancers, and many more. I personally experienced a surge in energy and stamina. I am happier and seem to have more patience to deal with everyday life. I feel more at peace.
Why Eat Raw and Living Food?
There are many factors why raw foods improve health but enzymes and acid alkaline balance are probably the two most important ones. Raw and living food which has not been heated above 115°F from its pure state maintains its perfect balance of food enzymes. Each of us is born with a limited amount of enzymes which we need not only for digestion but for everything from walking and talking to breathing. We depend on them and cannot function without them. Raw food has its own enzyme supply. When you eat raw and living food, its own food enzymes work to break it down leaving your enzyme supply stored in your body to work on more important tasks. Once food is cooked, the food enzymes are destroyed forcing you to use your own precious enzyme supply to digest your food.
Need More Persuasion!
America is the most obese country in the world (63% of adults are grossly overweight) yet we’re dying of malnutrition. Why? Because the food we eat is so over processed and altered, it barely has any nutrients left. Even after eating a full meal your body may send out another hunger signal which causes you to eat more. We’re starving and undernourished yet so overfed. When you eat a raw and living food diet you are feeding your cells with live food filled with vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and other life giving substances that cooking destroys.
Another important factor is your alkaline acid balance. How does your body become too acid? Diet is a major contributor. Some acid forming foods are meat, sugar, white flour, tobacco, eggs, chemical sweeteners, soda etc. when your body becomes too acidic, disease and other chronic health problems develop. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment! How do you become more alkaline? By incorporating fresh fruits and vegetables into your everyday diet such as limes, lemons, onions, grapes, green beans, apples, carrots...
Eating live food is more than eating just salads! Many recipes prepared with raw ingredients are more nutritious and filling than your average Standard American Diet, and can make your life healthier and much more enjoyable. In fact, many of the recipes on this site are gourmet raw food. An example of this is a complex recipe such as lasagna - made with fermented nut cheese, mock pasta and sauce.
In this area of the website you will find a collection of delicious raw recipes which can be easily prepared. We want to show people how delicious and filling raw foods can be. Most of these recipes can be made with only kitchen utensils and a high speed blender. Some recipes also use a food processor (an invaluable appliance for chopping nuts, making pate, as well as for shredding vegetables etc.).
Note: When selecting raw ingredients for your recipes keep in mind that organic is always BEST! Moreover the taste of fresh produce varies greatly and no two tomatoes taste exactly the same. A tomato grown in winter in California may taste very different from a tomato grown during summer in Canada. Since raw recipes include many fresh ingredients, you should taste them as you go and adjust the recipe as needed according to the flavors of the produce you're using.
