Everyone has spirit guides. No matter how many lifetimes it may take, when a spirit becomes fully conscious of itself and completely skilled in the lessons of planet earth, it is ready to graduate. It no longer needs to evolve (expand its soul consciousness) in a physical body and has the opportunity to become a guide for their brothers and sisters who remain on the earth plane. These highly evolved spirits can be of service because they have mastered the lessons you are learning. Everyone has spirit guides to help them evolve.

Throughout the ages we’ve known these spirit guides by many names: inner guidance, guides, guardians, guardian angels, spiritual helpers, ascended masters, Holy Spirit, the Comforter, archetypes, etc. These spirit guides are one with the All, or all things. By personal desire to evolve further and to better understand themselves they are the messengers of the universe. Their purpose is to help their brothers and sisters liberate themselves from the bondage of ignorance. They are here to help you understand who you are, where you came from and what you are doing here on planet earth. They want to bring people the essence of spiritual truth. This is what creates spirit guides -- their efforts to better themselves and help others.

The prophets knew of these spirit guides. They wanted a way to communicate this reality to the masses and explain that these spirits where here to give you direction. They choose the dove as a symbol because it moves through the air and never leaves its perch until it has its direction. Then they needed a symbol for the pure nature of these spirits; they choose a child. They put the wings of a dove on the body of a child and called them Messengers of God. When the early texts were translated from Hebrew to Greek, the words became angel(s).

When you feel chills on your body for no apparent reason, it’s your spirit guides guaranteeing you that they are communicating with you from the highest source. Another way to recognize their presence is when they give you a feeling of reassurance or a spurt of energy. They are always with you, no matter what. Even if you should pass on in a confused state of consciousness, they will stay with you until you regain your inner pivot point. They are the still small voice, the good idea, the inspiration, the feeling of inner security that is available to you at all times.
